A Poise Identity for longer battles. Repeatedly use defense's Defend [守] early to build Poise, convert Potency above 25 into Moonlit Azure Blade, then fight with critical Coin reuse from S2 Nameless Slash [無名斬] and S3 Fallstar Slayer [落星一殺].
Core Mechanics
Defense skills Defend [守] and Swerve [回]: Defend is a Clashable Guard that grants 6/8 Poise and 1/2 Poise Count at Combat Start (once per turn). If Poise Potency is 25 or more at Turn Start, it turns into the Evade Swerve, which grants Shield equal to Moonlit Azure Blade and 4 Poise Count at Combat Start.
Singular Focus of the Mind: At Turn End, converts Poise Potency above 25 into Moonlit Azure Blade, up to 15. On turns he equips no attack skills (including E.G.O), he restores 5 SP at Combat Start and gains 1 Slash Power Up next turn, so spamming his Defense skill does not drop his SP.
Moonlit Azure Blade: Maximum 20. At Turn Start, Shield of 2 per point, and +1% Critical damage per point.
S2 — Nameless Slash [無名斬]: A 3-target Unfocused Volley. Coin Ⅱ is reused on Critical Heads Hit, and if that reuse lands Heads with 10 or more Moonlit Azure Blade, it is reused once more (the second at Uptie Ⅳ; once per skill each). Base Power also rises with Poise, up to 2.
S3 — Fallstar Slayer [落星一殺]: 1 Coin. Coin Power and Base Power rise with Poise and Moonlit Azure Blade. Before attacking, +1 Attack Weight per 10 Moonlit Azure Blade (up to 2), and after attacking, spends 7/5 Moonlit Azure Blade per Attack Weight gained. If there are fewer targets than its Attack Weight, +30/50% damage per missing target. At 20 Moonlit Azure Blade, all Coins are Unbreakable.
Combat passive — The Orthodox Blade [整劍] (2 Pride Resonance; unlocked at Uptie Ⅱ): At Combat Start, gains (Pride Resonance ÷ 2) + 1 Poise, up to 4. At Combat End, +1 Poise Count if Poise is 20 or more.
How to Use
For the first 2–3 turns, use Defend without equipping attack skills to build Poise. Switching to attacks once Poise is around 20 works well. Build 2 Pride Resonance every turn to activate The Orthodox Blade too. Bringing Moonlit Azure Blade to 10 or more unlocks S2's second reuse and S3's Attack Weight increase, which is where he hits his stride. When Poise Count is about to run out, top it up with Swerve. His slow start makes him weak in short fights, and he shines in drawn-out battles and boss fights with Unbreakable Coins.
